INSTITUTE FOR SONIC RESEARCH

© Heiner Blum

The Institute for Sonic Research was founded by Professor Heiner Blum at the Academy for Art and Design in Offenbach. It is a sound lab, where sound in the context of artistic production in free creative processes can be promoted and presented. In addition, audio skills are taught in different workshop formats. Supporting partners of the Institute for Sound Research are the Städelschule in Frankfurt, the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen and the Robert Johnson Offenbach. The Institute is located in a makeshift aware, nomadic, discursive and open form. In the initial phase, the Institute uses the Soundlab of Städelschule for workshops and productions. The Club Robert Johnson is the place where the event Robert-Johnson-Theory is organized.
