“Ich bin der Welt noch den Tannhäuser schuldig” (I still owe the world a Tannhäuser) – this is what Richard Wagner allegedly said shortly before his death. In the FIASKO-Opera-Evening 5/5 concerning TANNHÄUSER the conductor and composer Johannes Harneit will present a musical lecture, exploring the root and utopian potential of this statement.

K.A.U.&Wdowik will develop the film opera FIASKO at the State Theater Darmstadt during the next two years. As a first step towards the final production in summer 2018, they stage five FIASKO OPERA EVENINGS in connection with the opera repertoire: two scenic concerts (Cosí fan Tutte and Jenufa), a choir installation (Faust) and two short plays (Tosca and Tannhäuser).

FIASKO is funded by the Fonds Doppelpass of the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
